1. Background
AB QVINTUS was founded in 1953 by Claes Liljeberg, Rune Lövenberg and Torsten Tardelius. We have over 60 years of business experience and are one among few companies in Sweden that has our own production of thermometers.

AB QVINTUS provides a deep selection of measuring instruments for temperature and pressure for the Swedish and global market. Our ambition is to offer our customers a personal treatment, tailor made solutions as well as products and services of high quality.

2. Project description
AB QVINTUS has been working on lead free materials – mainly lead-free brass since 2015. To some extents, QVINTUS is one of earliest leading suppliers in Nordic promoting lead free materials in HVAC instruments. Since 2020, QVINTUS collaborates with RISE (Research Institutes of Sweden) for regular material analysis. The maximum allowed lead concentration in lead-free brass is 0.1%w/w in Europe.

In recent years, there are more and more discussions about carbon footprint in the industry. We at QVINTUS believed it is an important aspect we have to consider and analyze. In last 2 years, we have been working on a concept called “Q-Brass”. Q Brass should be environmentally friendly (lead-free) and aims to have less carbon emissions in its lifecycle comparing with current standard lead-free brass.

In order to achieve it,
• Firstly, we need to analyze the total carbon emission of QVINTUS’s lead-free brass, which is used in our current instruments.
• Secondly, we need to study the carbon emission of standard lead-free brass in the European market or Nordic market.
• Last but not least, we should work together with most important stakeholders in the lifecycle such as raw material manufacturer, instrument manufacturer, transporter and so on, and give feasible suggestions and find good alternatives to lower total carbon emissions.

4. Qualifications
This will be a MANDATORY in your application:
• Has project experience in carbon footprint analysis
• Has good knowledge in material life cycle analysis
• Fluent in English (speaking & writing)
This will be a PLUS in your application, if you have/could:
• Bachelor degree in engineering
• Speak Swedish or Chinese or other languages
• Interested to work in a small company but make big impact
