Myvox is a Stockholm based startup changing the way we produce sound in earbuds and wearables, using piezoelectric Micro-ElectroMechanical Systems (MEMS) technology to create smaller and better sounding microspeakers. We are centrally located on Kungsgatan, with both office and lab, and we are looking for an ambitious student to explore novel MEMS speaker architectures.
Myvox has invented a novel speaker concept based on three-dimensional silicon structures, which has the potential to create a speaker with higher sound output at a smaller size than possible using conventional planar membranes. This thesis project aims to develop this concept into a full-scale MEMS device proposal.
You will have the opportunity to, with guidance from experts in the field, design a completely novel microdevice from scratch. The work would include both theoretical calculations, MEMS structure design and simulation of projected speaker performance, in large part by building and analysing FEM models of speaker configurations.
We are looking for a person that can come up with novel ideas, and then implement those same ideas. Someone who enjoys thinking about physical problems in three dimensions. Maybe you have an interest in startups and entrepreneurship or audio and sound in general.
